Florence Pugh's We Live in Time debuted in select theatres on October 11.
Florence Pugh recently revealed the emotional process of going bald for her latest film We Live in Time, in which she stars alongside Andrew Garfield. On Sunday, Pugh shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set. A picture also shows the last time she had her blonde hair before shaving it off.
“This was the last picture I took with my hair,” Pugh wrote on Instagram. In the film, Pugh portrays Almut, a rising chef diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer. The role required a drastic change as the actress shaved her head to realistically portray her character’s cancer journey.
Pugh expressed her deep connection to the role and the decision to go bald, sharing, “Getting to do this for this role was a true honour and a privilege, to give my body to the story was something I always felt passionately and confident about. I'm just grateful. So grateful.”
The heartfelt post included a series of photos showing her journey during the film’s production. “I’ve been desperate for a role like this for a few years. A woman who is current and relatable and going through all of the conversations modern women are going through daily,” the Oppenheimer actress wrote in the caption.
Pugh also acknowledged the dedication and talent of the film's crew, particularly the prosthetics team who helped bring her character to life.
