Doja Cat channels Ginger Spice in corset, lace thong at Wireless Festival 2024: Watch

Doja Cat is proving that she is a performer extraordinaire. At the 2024 Wireless festival held in London, UK, the American rapper and singer broke the stage with her closing act, giving everyone a ferocious masterclass in stage performance. 

Sporting red hair and a hand-painted corset designed by Dilara Findikoğlu, Doja channelled Geri Halliwell aka Ginger Spice from the hit London girl group, the Spice Girls. For those unaware, Geri wore the Union Jack dress at the 1997 Brit Awards.

The custom corset featured the UK's flag to give sartorial nods to the country. Doja styled it with a lace thong and fishnet tights. For her footwear, she opted for a pair of beige point-toe kitten heels. 

Geri Halliwell opened up about the iconic look in her British Vogue 'Life in Looks' video in 2020. "It’s 1997 and we were going to be performing in front of everyone. I remember thinking, ‘Maybe I could just put on a British flag’," Geri recalled. "At the time, the stylist said to me, ‘I don’t think you should wear that’. I got a very inexpensive tea towel – it was probably about five pounds – and I said, ‘Let’s place it on this Gucci dress’."

Doja Cat previously collaborated with Dilara Findikoğlu for her 2024 Grammys look, which featured a bodycon nude-coloured sheer gown. What's weird is that Doja even got “Dilara Findikoglu” tattooed across her forehead to take the look a step forward.
