Tyrion Lannister's relationship with his father Tywin Lannister was complicated and the two loathed each other. However, contrary to what they played onscreen, Peter Dinklage and Charles Dance enjoyed a close bond on the Game of Thrones set and had intense affection for each other.

During a recent appearance on Hot Ones, Dinklage revealed that he loves Dance and that he's one of his favourite human beings. When asked if Dance used to apologise to him during takes, Dinklage said, "We would get really invested in those things. Just like between every take, he would come over and just gently touch me on the shoulder."

The actor added that while they didn't have the time to "hug it out", the interactions "felt very paternal too".

"But, he played a horrible human being, but he’s one of my favourite human beings," the actor told Evans.

"I spend a lot of my time with Peter Dinklage and he’s the most adorable man, a wonderful actor," Dance said at the time. "After all those scenes, I apologise to him every time. I have to treat him like s—. You’ve only seen a little snippet of the awfulness in episode 1."
