"You know that on the 12th of January, on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the country celebrates ‘Youth Day’. Next year is Swami Vivekananda’s 162nd birth anniversary," PM Modi said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday (Nov 24), urged the youth without political background to enter politics and to participate actively in the upcoming Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue. This comes a day after the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance registered a landslide win in the Maharastra assembly elections.
Speaking during the 116th episode of his monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi emphasised the critical role the youth play in shaping India's future.

"You know that on the 12th of January, on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the country celebrates ‘Youth Day’. Next year is Swami Vivekananda’s 162nd birth anniversary," PM Modi said.
"On this occasion, a Maha Kumbh of young minds is going to be held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on 11-12 January, and the name of this initiative is ‘Vikasit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’. Crores of youth from all over India will participate in it," he added.
"Two thousand such youth selected from villages, blocks, districts, and states will gather at Bharat Mandapam for the ‘Vikasit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’. You might remember that from the ramparts of the Red Fort, I have urged such youths to join politics, none of whose family members or even the entire family have had a political background," PM continued.
"To connect 1 lakh such youths, new youths, to politics, many special campaigns will be run in the country. ‘Vikasit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’ is also one such effort," he said.
Concluding his address, PM Modi urged the youth to seize this opportunity to shape the nation's future.
"So, get ready. This is a big opportunity for those who can help build the future of India and its next generation. Let's come together, build the country, and make it Viksit," he said.
PM Modi, on Saturday (Nov. 23) reached Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in New Delhi after a landslide victory in Maharashtra assembly polls. In an address to party workers, Modi said development, good governance, and true social justice won in Maharashtra; whereas lies and deceit were badly defeated.
"Today the results of by-elections of many states have also come... Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan have given strong support to BJP. The people of Assam have once again expressed their trust in the BJP. We have also had success in Madhya Pradesh. Support for NDA has increased in Bihar. This shows that the country now only wants development..," the Indian PM said.
