Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have increased the vigil on the Line of Control ahead of the winter. Forces have received input that terrorist activity across the line of control has increased, and Pakistan-trained terrorists will try to infiltrate into the Kashmir territory before the snowfall covers the mountains in the northern parts of Kashmir.

The security grid has been increased on the LoC, especially on the critical infiltration routes of North Kashmir's Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, and Jammu's Rajouri and Poonch districts. Manual patrolling as well as use of technology to man the border have been initiated. CCTV cameras, Night Vigil cameras, drones, and other equipment have been put in place to look for any suspicious movement around the area.
