Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA is leading in early trends as counting started on Tuesday (June 4) for the Indian general elections.
All eyes are on Lok Sabha (General Election) 2024 verdict as India readies to welcome its new government. The results of this crucial and giant elections will determine the political landscape of the world's largest democracy for the next five years.
As the counting of votes continues, the nation of over 1.4 billion and the world is poised to see whether the incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government will retain power, or if a new government will emerge from the opposing INDIA bloc.

- Gujarat: Quite predictably, Modi-led BJP is leading with 24 of 25 seats. Congress meanwhile is ahead in only one constituency - Patan. Surat constituency has already been won uncontested by BJP's Mukeshkumar Chandrakaant Dalal.
- Uttar Pradesh: INDIA bloc leading in UP with 44 of 80 seats (SP: 35, CONG: 7, RLD: 2). Meanwhile, BJP is leading in 34 seats.
- Odisha: BJP leading in 19 of 21 seats. Biju Janta Dal (BJD) and Congress has the lead in one seat each.
- Punjab: INDIA bloc is leading in 10 seats (CONG: 6, AAP: 3). Of the total 13 seats, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has the lead in 1 seat, while Independent candidates are ahead in two seats. BJP is nowhere to be seen. Former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Congress candidate wins the Jalandhar seat with a voter margin of 175993.
- Maharashtra: The INDIA bloc is currently leading in a total of 36 out of the 48 constituencies [Shiv Sena (UBT): 11, INC: 12, NCP: 1]. Meanwhile, BJP is leading in 12 seats. Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar - NCPSP is leading in six seats.
- Karnataka: BJP's Govind Makthappa Karjol won from Karnataka's Chitradurga Lok Sabha Constituency
Congress wins another Lok Sabha constituency. Amar Singh clinched victory from Fatehgarh Sahib constituency in Punjab.

As of 2pm IST, the Bharatiya Janata Party has registered a win in two constituencies, and is leading in 237 others. The Indian National Congress has won one seat and is trailing with a lead in 98 constituencies, while the third leading part is the Samajwadi Party, which is ahead in 36 seats.
Bharatiya Janata Party's Manju Sharma has won from Jaipur — one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Sharma registered a win with 886,850 votes and a margin of 331,767 over the closest contender.

Noting the early trends that show the BJP-led NDA and Congress-led INDIA bloc in a tough race, Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Congress leader Harish Rawat stated, "The candidates of NDA are leading with very little margin… The public has voted for change… For the first time, PM Modi trailed in two rounds of counting."
"I hope that the INDIA alliance will get the majority," he added.
Indian Election Commission data at 1 pm IST shows that BJP has the lead in 242 seats. Meanwhile, Congress is ahead in 94 of 543 constituencies.
The BJP has secured the lead in 235 constituencies and has won one seat, bringing its total to 236. Congress meanwhile as per ECI data has not won any seats but is leading in 97 constituencies.
Other leading parties are the Samajwadi Party — ahead in 35 constituencies, All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) — 32 constituencies, and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) — 21 seats.
As per the latest updates, the BJP is leading in 237 seats with one win. Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress has not won any seats yet but is leading in 96 constituencies. Overall, the INDIA bloc parties are leading in 188 constituencies.
As of 11 am, as per Election Commission of India data of 539 seats, BJP has the lead in 237 seats, while the INC is ahead in 97 seats. Overall the INDIA bloc is leading in over 200 seats.
The latest ECI data from 10:35 am shows that the INDIA bloc is leading in 223 seats, while the BJP, Narendra-Modi led NDA is leading in 278 seats.
The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) candidates as per Election Commission tally are leading in four constituencies. In Kurukshetra, Dr Sushil Gupta is ahead with 34,164 votes, leading by a margin of 6,927 votes. In Hoshiarpur, Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal is leading with 81,614 votes and a margin of 7,976 votes. Malvinder Singh Kang is the leading candidate in Anandpur Sahib with 69,915 votes, holding a margin of 3,260 votes. Finally, in Sangrur, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer is leading with 105,382 votes and a substantial margin of 48,539 votes.
As per the initial trends at 10:10 am, of 481 seats data released by the Election Commission of India, the BJP is leading in 212 seats, the Indian National Congress INC is leading in 84 seats, and the Samajwadi Party (SP) is leading in 31 seats.
A tally of seats by various parties shows that the INDIA bloc overall is leading in 191 seats.
As per the initial trends of 457 seats released by the Election Commission of India, the BJP is leading on 209 seats, while the INC is leading on 80 seats. The Samajwadi Party is leading on 29 seats.
Narendra Modi, as per the ECI tally, is leading in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh with 436 vote margin. He is trailed by INC's Ajay Rai.
In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP is leading with 34 seats. Of the 73 seats, ECI has posted data of, the Samajwadi Party is leading in 30 seats, followed by INC which has the lead in 6 seats. Additionally, the Rashtriya Lok Dal has the lead in 2 seats, while the Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) - ASPKR is ahead in one constituency.
As of 9:45 am, the BJP has won one seat and is leading in 194 others, making their total count 195 out of 405 seats. The INC has not secured any wins yet but is leading in 76 seats.
Additionally, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is leading in 30 seats, while the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is ahead in 14 seats. The Shiv Sena (SHS) has leads in 10 seats.
Latest election updates show INC leader Rahul Gandhi is leading in two constituencies. In Rae Bareli, he has garnered a total of 8,225 votes with a margin of 2,126 votes. Meanwhile, in Wayanad, he has secured a significant lead with 20,807 votes, holding a substantial margin of 14,030 votes over his closest competitor.
In the current tally (as of 9:20 am), early election results for 310 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading the chart with a total of 144 seats, comprising one win and 143 leads. The Indian National Congress (INC) is trailing with 53 seats, all of which are leads. The Samajwadi Party (SP) has secured leads in 27 seats, while the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is leading in 10 seats.
Shiv Sena has 6 leads, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) - CPI(M) along with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) each have 4 leads. The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackrey) faction is leading in 3 seats. Meanwhile, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), Janata Dal (Secular) - JD(S), and Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKN) are each leading in 2 seats.
Election commission data at 9:05 am IST shows that the BJP is currently ahead with a total of 92 seats, having secured one confirmed win and leading in 91 others.
The INC follows with 33 seats, all of which are leads with no confirmed victories. The Samajwadi Party (SP) is at the third position, leading in 15 seats, whereas both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are each leading in 6 seats.
As of 8:50 am IST, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in a total of 63 seats, with 1 confirmed win. The Indian National Congress (INC) is leading in 20 seats, with no confirmed wins yet. Similarly, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading in 5 seats without any confirmed wins.
ECI data at 8:42 am IST shows BJP leading in 17 constituencies, while the INC is only leading in one constituency of Jalandhar, Punjab — candidate is Charanjit Singh Channi.
After half hour of dedicated postal ballot counting, the count for EVM votes begins at 8:30 am IST.
As per official ECI data at 8: 25 am, BJP is leading in the following constituencies:
- In Arunachal East, Tapir Gao is leading with a total of 865 votes, securing a narrow margin of 69 votes.
- In Junagadh, Gujarat Chudasama Rajeshbhai Naranbhai is ahead with 3,024 votes, a margin of just 50 votes.
- Dhaval Laxmanbhai Patel in Valsad, Gujarat with a significant lead of 9,091 votes, and a substantial margin of 8,434 votes.
- Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh with 3,364 votes, surpassing his competitors by 1,514 votes.
- Dr. Virendra Kumar leading in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh with a margin of 6283.
Early trends show Indian National Congress (INC) leader Rahul Gandhi leading the race in Kerala's Wayanad, a Congress bastion since 2009.
As per early trends, at 8:17 am IST, Narendra Modi-led NDA is leading in a number of constituencies.
Political analysts and experts have been making predictions, but the ultimate decision rests with the voters. Exit polls have projected a big win for Prime Minister Modi and if they are confirmed, he will make a resounding comeback with a record-equalling third consecutive term in office.
TV exit polls released on Saturday (June 1) after voting ended projected the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance could win a two-thirds majority in the 543-member lower house of parliament. The BJP is projected to win a greater number of seats than the 303 it achieved in 2019, as indicated by a number of major polls.
As per the Election Commission of India (ECI) official notification, the results trends will start from 8:00 am IST (2:30 am GMT) on June 4, 2024.
In Arunachal Pradesh, an Indian state bordering China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party won the regional vote in Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday (June 2). The BJP comfortably retained power in Arunachal Pradesh by winning 46 of the 60 seats.
In the northeastern India state of Sikkim, a regional party, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha swept to power. The party that in 2019 had allied with the BJP for national polls won by a landslide, securing 31 of the 32 seats in the state assembly, while neither the BJP nor the national opposition Congress party won any seats.

With vote count set to begin soon, BJP's North West Delhi candidate Yogendra Chandolia in a statement to ANI has expressed his confidence in Modi's win.
"Exit Polls is saying just one thing '400 paar'…It is the bad habit of the Opposition. They must accept the mandate. Whatever Narendra Modi did for the country in 10 years - public was waiting for the day of voting. Today, counting is being done across the country. It will begin at 8 am and I am confident that with the trends that come in by 12 noon, PM Modi will become the PM for the third time and by 4 pm, it will be '400 paar'…," he said.

Buoyed by exit polls forecasting a landslide victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha elections, the Raipur unit of the BJP as per reports has already started gearing up for a grand celebration. They have prepared 201 kilograms of laddus (a popular Indian sweet) in 11 different varieties to share the anticipated triumph with their leaders and workers.
"We have set the target to distribute 201 kg of laddus and we have ordered 11 types of laddus," said BJP district vice president Lalit Jai Singh in an interview with ANI on Sunday, the day before the vote counting. "We will distribute laddus from noon till 11 at night," he added.
Bharatiya Janata Party has registered a one-sided win in Surat, one of Gujarat's 26 Lok Sabha constituencies. This win was registered way ahead of the vote counting or result declaration in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, but how can that be?
Mukesh Dalal, the BJP candidate, became the uncontested winner from Surat on April 22 after all other eight candidates withdrew due to the rejection of Congress nominee Nilesh Kumbhani's nomination.
