An investigation was opened by authorities after the post caused significant anxieties regarding its ramifications. The X account that disseminated the alleged anti-state statement remains under investigation.

As per ARY News, there were rumours that Khan's X account might have been hacked or that someone else might have used it to post divisive material. The authorities are examining whether the rumours are true.

During the investigation, PTI founder Khan claimed that the statements on his account were intended to critique the elite's control over the nation, rather than targeting any specific organisation or individual.

As per the report, the FIA team has since left the jail, and further cases may be filed once the inquiry is complete.
