The call between PM Modi and Trump comes less than 12 hours since the latter was declared the next US President.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (Nov. 6) called US presidential election winner Donald Trump, congratulated him on his electoral victory and said that he looks forward to once again strengthening India-US relations across several sectors.
“Had a great conversation with my friend, President @realDonaldTrump, congratulating him on his spectacular victory. Looking forward to working closely together once again to further strengthen India-US relations across technology, defence, energy, space and several other sectors,” PM Modi said in a post shared on X.

The call between PM Modi and Trump came less than 12 hours since the latter was declared the next US President.
Trump said that the whole world loves PM Modi. He told PM Modi that he considers him and India a true friend, adding that PM Modi is one of the first world leaders he spoke to after his victory.

He further said that the whole world loves PM Modi and that India is a magnificent country and PM Modi is a magnificent man.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dialed Donald Trump after his electoral win. PM Netanyahu congratulated him and also discussed the Iranian threat with US presidential election winner Trump.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening, spoke with US President-elect Donald Trump and was among the first to call him. Their conversation was warm and cordial. The Prime Minister congratulated President-elect Trump on his election victory. The two agreed to work together for Israel's security, and also discussed the Iranian threat,” Netanyahu’s office shared the statement on X.

Republican Donald Trump won the US Presidential elections by bagging 277 votes, defeating Kamala Harris. As it became crystal clear that Trump would be the next head of state, several world leaders congratulated the Republican leader on their social media handles.

In a post on X, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Donald Trump. "As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership," Prime Minister Modi said.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron were among the other leaders who congratulated Trump.
Australian Prime Minister Antony Albanese also took to X, saying, "Congratulations to President Donald Trump on his election victory. Australians and Americans are great friends and true allies. Working together, we can ensure the partnership between our nations and peoples remains strong into the future.”
