It was a chaotic deadline day in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as all 10 franchises announced their retentions for the 2025 season on Thursday (Oct 31). While there were few surprises in the form of Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul getting axed, the rest of the retentions were predicted as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni will stay at their respective sides and won’t enter the auctions.
