Stree 2 becomes the biggest Hindi film of all time, crosses Jawan's lifetime earnings

Amar Kaushik's Stree 2 is now officially the biggest Hindi film of all time in India. The film, featuring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi and others has been declared a blockbuster and the film's producer - Maddock Films on Wednesday took to X to share the recent box office numbers made by the film which has surpassed the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's 2023 blockbuster Jawan. 

The poster read, "Indian box office's no. 1 Hindi film of all time!" written on it. The caption read, "Woh Stree hai aur usne aakhir kar dikhaya... Hindustan ki sab se sarvashresth (She is Stree and she has finally done it...India's best film) No. 1 Hindi film of all time!!!"

"Yeh itihaas humare saath rachane ke liye sab fans ko bahut bahut dhanyavaad (thanks a lot to all fans for scripting this history with us)... Stree 2 is still running in cinemas successfully... theatre aao, kuch aur naye records rachate hain (come to theatres, lets make some more new records)!" the post further read. 

The film's collection is now more than Jawan's (Hindi version) lifetime collection. 

Stree 2 box office collection

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 has collected Rs 586 crore (over Rs 5.8 billion) at the Indian box office.

WION's review of Stree 2

In her review, WION's Shomini Sen wrote that while the film was enjoyable, its climax was loud and screechy. 

"I wish Stree 2 climax was not so screechy and the second half was not this stretched. I did enjoy watching the film but the second half marred the experience to quite an extent. It ends with a promise of Part 3 and the possibility of a Vampire film being added to the horror universe of Maddock," Sen wrote. Read the full review here
