Vidya Balan played the role of Manjulika in Priyadarshan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which was released in 2007 and featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The second film was helmed by Anees Bazmee in 2022 and starred Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani.
Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set to hit the theatres on November 1 and one of the most exciting things about the movie is actress Vidya Balan reprising the role of Manjulika.
As the release of the movie is nearing, Balan has revealed that she was offered Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 but she rejected the offer because of her fear.
Currently, Balan is busy promoting her upcoming movie. Recently, she opened up about why she turned down the offer to star in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
The actress said that she had a fear that if anything goes wrong the second time then it could negatively impact the image she gained from the first movie.
"I was so scared because Bhool Bhulaiyaa has given me so much. So I said, if I did something wrong, then everything will be in vain. I told Anees ji that I can't take this risk,” Vidya told reporters.
However, when it came to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the actress said that she loved the script.
"But when they came back to me with the third part, I loved the script. I was dying to work on this with Anees bhai and Bhushan. And then it only kept getting better," she said.
Praising Bhool Bhulaiya 3, the actress said further, "And then the icing on the cake was working with Madhuri Dixit ma'am. So, I think it only kept getting better, and I accumulated the courage. I had a great time. He (Bazmee) is the king of entertainment. I had the opportunity to work with him.”
