The legal battle over fees began after Jamie was removed as the conservator of Britney's estate in September 2021, leading to the termination of the entire conservatorship two months later.

Britney Spears and her father Jamie Spears have finally settled an ongoing dispute over legal fees, closing a chapter on the legal battle that ensued after the end of the singer's conservatorship.

The settlement, reached for an undisclosed sum in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, April 25, brings an end to the conflict over fees related to the conservatorship battle. The conservatorship, which had granted Jamie control over Britney's life, was terminated in November 2021, marking a significant victory for the singer.

"Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete," said Britney's attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart. "As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with the court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter.”

Rosengart emphasised that Britney's freedom was achieved through legal victories, stating, “Britney Spears won when the court suspended her father, and Britney Spears won when her fundamental rights and civil liberties were restored.”

Jamie's attorney, Alex Weingarten, expressed his satisfaction with the settlement, noting that Jamie is relieved to have the matter behind him. Weingarten stated, "Jamie is thrilled that this is all behind him. He loves his daughter very much and everything he has ever done has been to protect and support her."

The legal battle over fees began after Jamie was removed as the conservator of Britney's estate in September 2021, leading to the termination of the entire conservatorship two months later.

Jamie had sought court approval for over $2 million in fees paid to multiple law firms during the legal battle, as well as payment for his current lawyer's legal bill, according to The New York Times. The settlement now resolves these outstanding disputes, bringing an end to a tumultuous chapter in Britney's life.
