Hugh Jackman is set to make a rocking comeback as Wolverine with his longtime pal Ryan Reynolds in the third instalment of the R-rated movie Deadpool and Wolverine.

Jackman last donned the superhero costume in 2017’s Logan. After years of gap, it was not easy for the actor to fit back into the superhero costume. Speaking with Ryan Reynolds for PEOPLE's cover story, the duo got candid about their upcoming movie as they discussed Jackman's transformation for the movie, as the Logan actor went on to reveal the toughest part of his training to become Wolverine again.

Hailing the 55-year-old actor's physicality and stunt work, Reynolds said they were the ''most impressive things" he had ever seen in his life.

The Deadpool actor said, "Just the sheer relentlessness that you dedicated yourself towards stunts, choreography. It was the first time I'd ever seen how invaluable a background in song and dance is when you are doing an action movie."

He added, “You hit your marks in those fight scenes with speed and confidence, the likes of which I have never seen. I don't care if you were 25, 35, 45 or 55. It was lightning.”

Hugh Jackman's Training Process

During his discussion with Reynolds, Jackman said that it was thrilling as he underwent rigorous training for the role, before revealing the hardest part of the process.

Saying that he was introduced to dance training to do the action sequences successfully, the actor said, “When I came back to it, it was really fun and I was thrilled. My body was a little sore at the beginning, but I was thrilled that my body was still responding. And I realised how good it is for your brain.''

Revealing the challenges he faced, the actor said, ''the hardest bit…the food.”

“I have to eat a lot,” Jackman said. “For me, for my body type, I'm naturally skinny. To get the size on, that's the hardest bit. That's the bit that does my head in.”

Adding to Jackman's comments, Reynolds said, “Yeah, the five, six meals a day, which sounds great to some people. I'm sure they're like, ‘Well, that sounds great.’ But it's not like the type of food that you would really necessarily enjoy.”
