Jennifer Aniston remembers dear friend Matthew Perry on his first death anniversary, shares photos

It's been a year since our beloved Matthew Perry left us. On Oct 28, Perry was found dead at his Los Angeles home.

Today is Perry's first death anniversary, and his friend Jennifer Aniston has shared an emotional tribute, remembering her sweet late friend. The two were known to be friends off-screen and shared a deep bond.

On Monday, the actress shared a bunch of throwback pictures of her, Perry and their Friends cast from their good old days together.

The first black-and-white picture is of young Perry and Jennifer. The second picture is a still from the famous sitcom, showing Perry's character Chandler Bing kissing Jennifer's character Rachel Green. 

The third one is a group picture of the friend's lead cast: Perry as Chandler, Jennifer Aniston as Rachel, Courteney Cox as Monica, David Schwimmer as Ross, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe, and Matt LeBlanc as Joey. The fourth picture is of Perry smiling.  

Taking to Instagram, Aniston, 55, shared a post tagging Perry's foundation. She wrote in the caption, "1 year ❤️‍🩹."

Soon after Jennifer shared a post, her fans and followers were quick to express their feelings in the comment section.

For Perry, his Friend's co-stars were like family to him. The six actors rose to fame with the 90's sitcom that became a cultural phenomenon. In the show, Perry played the role of witty Chandler Bing.

In a tribute post last year, the actor shared that Perry's death "has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before."

"We loved him deeply. He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be," she wrote.

Marking Perry's death anniversary, the official Instagram handle for Friends shared a tribute post, which read, “On the one year anniversary of his passing, we honor Matthew Perry whose legacy lives on through the work of the Matthew Perry Foundation.”

Perry died on October 28, 2023, at the age of 53. According to Perry’s autopsy, he died of “the acute effects of ketamine” and subsequent drowning.

Five people have since been charged in connection with Perry's death from an accidental overdose of ketamine.
