Story highlights

Looks like after Daniel Craig's exit, we finally have to ourselves a new James Bond.

What we initially thought were just rumours, seems to be gaining momentum as a former James Bond star gets behind the idea of Aaron Taylor-Johnson playing the next 007 Agent. We are talking about former James Bond actor Georhe Lazenby, who portrayed the iconic role in 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

George gave his approval on Aaron’s name as it was widely reported that the actor is being seriously considered post Daniel Craig’s exit from the franchise. According to a report by TMZ, George said that Aaron will be able to “handle the stunts and all the ladies who love a man in a tux.”

Is Aaron Taylor-Johnson still in talks or does he have the job already?

Meanwhile, George Lazenby isn't exactly sure that Aaron has bagged the role. This he thinks because  “when he auditioned for the part back in the 1960s, he went through a bunch of different tests and auditions before he won the role.”

He, however, said that he supported Aaron in the role “as long as he does the character justice,” telling the actor “to be true to himself and reinvent the role to fit him.”

Aaron Taylor-Johnson starred in the Bullet Train, an iconic film in its own right.

Daniel Craig exited James Bond franchise after five films

He continued to play the role in the coming four films: From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), and You Only Live Twice (1967).
