Are you excited? We certainly are as Netflix has dropped details about the upcoming season of its hit show You starring Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg. In You season 5, Badgley will reprise the psycho serial killer role which he’s become famous for on TV. The filming for season 5 of You is currently underway. The first look at Joe’s character from the new season has now been released. 

Season 4 of You left fans on a cliffhanger with Joe on the run and starting a new relationship with a woman named Kate. Will he finally face the consequences of his actions? 

Here’s Everything You Need To Know About You Season 5

Season 5 will be the final season of You. The first glimpse of the franchise’s finale dropped on March 25. In the teaser, Penn’s character is dressed in shades of black, brown and grey as he roams the streets of New York. 

Netflix confirmed the season with the first look and captioned it: “Spotted: Joe Goldberg in New York City. The 5th and final season of YOU is now in production.”

Cast of You Season 5

Penn Badgley reprises the iconic role of Joe Goldberg while Charlotte Ritchie plays Kate. We'll also see the addition of Madeleine Brewer as Bronte, “a free-spirited playwright who's bound to intrigue Joe.” 

Michael Foley and Justin W Lo will take over as showrunners, succeeding series creator Sera Gamble.

You season 5 release date

Netflix has not confirmed the release date yet. The show was renewed for a fifth season in March 2023, but we can look forward to a release window in 2024. 

The filming for You Season 5 has already begun and if all goes as planned, the new and final season will drop by the end of the year.
