While Amanda Seyfried is in no rush to leave films, she calls leaving Hollywood the "best decision" as she now lives in upstate New York, away from city with her family.
It’s not news that Mamma Mia actress Amanda Seyfried has left Hollywood for a quiet farm life but she is now opening up on the perks of having the option of both city and farm life. Years ago, Amanda decided to move away from Hollywood and made a home in Upstate New York. She has built a sweet family home with her husband and two children and she wouldn’t change a thing.
Talking to Forbes recently, Amanda Seyfried said, “I moved upstate long before I had a family. Staying here was the best decision for privacy, peace and nature. It offers a more balanced life than the city does.”
She added that this move was “essential for my mental health.”
This doesn’t mean she doesn’t like her acting career. She loves to act and come back home which is away from the glitzy glam of city life. She likes a “peaceful place to call home” which allows her to better “acclimate to the faster lifestyle of the city, the high-energy of press events and life on-set.”
When not working, Amanda Seyfried likes getting dirty in the mud in her boots, feeding the animals on her farm and enjoying her quiet life. She told Forbes that while there was a “learning curve” at first, the farm life experience has been the most “exhilarating” and gives her “so much purpose.”
Amanda likes her city trips too because she sees them as fun getaways knowing “the next day I’ll be home and even happier in my boots in the mud feeding the animals.”
On the work front, Amanda Seyfried will next be seen in director Paul Feig’s adaptation of The Housemaid.
