There ain't no Christmas cheer without Mariah Carey courtesy the world's most famous Christmas song to her credit -- "All I Want For Christmas".
Mariah Carey is coming with a huge surprise for fans. The songstress will now be debuting a new radio show this Christmas on BBC Radio 2. It will start running from 7 pm on Christmas (Dec 25).
This will mark the 30th anniversary of her all-time hit Christmas song “All I Want For Christmas” which was released in 1994. The songstress will feature as part of the BBC radio’s Christmas schedule.
During the pre-recorded hour, Mariah Carey will thank listeners for their support over the years and will play Christmas classics from artists who have inspired her including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston.
Back in 1994 when Mariah Carey’s classic was released, it didn’t get its due number 1 spot as it got beaten by East 17’s “Stay Another Day”. The song gained pop culture status and was released again after 26 years in 2022. It charted number 1 position in no time and became the most-heard song during the festive season of the year.
The radio show will not only feature Mariah Carey but will feature other American superstars like Cher who will reveal some of her favourite tracks. There will also be some British presenters over the festive period.

The Official Christmas number one will be announced on BBC Radio 1 on December 20 by Jack Saunders.
On the touring front, Mariah Carey recently announced her Christmas Time Tour to celebrate the mega holiday hit song. She kicked off the concert on November 6 in California. She will perform the tour's final show on December 17 in Brooklyn, New York.
