Story highlights

Prince Harry, Hugh Grant and others to feature in a new documentary titled Tabloids on Trial, opening up on ongoing legal battles against Britain's publications.

Prince Harry and Hugh Grant are set for a new stint together. The duo have signed up for a documentary where they open up about the ongoing legal battles including the phone hacking scandal which they are calling Tabloids On Trial.

The legal issue resulted from publishers allegedly snooping on the Duke of Sussex’s whereabouts. Prince Harry claims that he was targeted by journalists and private investigators working for News Group Newspapers (NGN) titles The Sun and the now-defunct News Of The World. After he and wife Meghan Markle won the lawsuit against The Sun, it was found out that they were not the only ones but other stars too were victims of this attack on their privacy.

Britain's biggest stars claim attack to privacy

In 2011, it was found out that Britain’s biggest stars and figures were victims of the scandal where top publications were tapping landlines and had put listening devices in their private properties. NGN has denied any illegal activity took place at The Sun.

It was in December when the court ruled in favour of Prince Harry against Mirror Group Newspapers. The court ruled that the phone hacking was “widespread and habitual”.

In addition to Prince Harry, Hugh Grant, ex-soccer player Paul Gascoigne, and singer-songwriter Charlotte Church will also be featured in the documentary after claiming to have had their privacy violated by the tabloid press.

The documentary will feature Prince Harry and others who will speak about the whole ordeal. It will premiere on July 25.
