Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta's cult movie Veer Zaara enters Rs 100 crore club

Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta's Veer-Zaara has transcended generations, years and boundaries. Even 20 years after its release, the magic of this evergreen movie has not faded, and the box office numbers from the movie's re-release are a testament to that. Directed by Yash Chopra, the iconic 2004 movie was re-released in the theatres worldwide on September 13. 

The cult-classic romance movie has been earning moolah from the first day of its re-release. With the additional earnings from the re-release, the romance saga has now entered the Rs 100 crore club worldwide. 

Veer-Zaara in 100 crore club

Originally released in 2004, the movie has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide after its earnings from the re-releases.

Over the years, the movie has been re-released several times and each time, the movie has contributed well to the movie's box-office gross. During the original run, the movie earned Rs 98 crore. With the addition from the re-released, the total collection now stands at Rs 102.60 crore.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh shared the overall numbers of the movie.

In a post, he wrote, ''VEER ZAARA' CROSSES ₹ 💯 CR *WORLDWIDE GROSS* ON RE-RELEASE... Released in very few cinemas [282] and with limited showings, the timeless classic #VeerZaara - originally released in 2004 - fares very well in its *re-release*.''

During the recent re-release, the movie has earned Rs 1.57 crore. 
''[Week 1; re-release] Fri 20 lacs, Sat 32 lacs, Sun 38 lacs, Mon 20 lacs, Tue 18 lacs, Wed 15 lacs, Thu 14 lacs. Total: ₹ 1.57 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice.''

Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by ace director Yash Chopra, Veer-Zaara is one of the most iconic films ever made in Indian cinema.

The movie was Chopra and Shah Rukh's third collaboration after Darr and Dil To Pagal Hai.

The movie is a cross-border love story of Veer Pratap Singh (Khan), an Indian Air Force officer, and Zaara Hayaat Khan (Zinta), the daughter of a Pakistani politician, who reunite after 22 years of waiting.

Apart from Khan and Zinta, the movie also stars Rani Mukerji, who plays a Pakistani lawyer, named Saamiya Siddiqui.
