Story highlights

Tom Cruise loves his stunts and it's being reported that the actor is proactively executing a "major Hollywood production" and that he will be "dropping in" as the Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo will hand over the Olympic flag to LA Mayor Karen Bass. Los Angeles will host the next Olympics games in 2028.

Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise loves his stunts. The actor does most of his death-defying stunts with no stunt doubles to back him. Whether it is jumping on a moving train or sky diving, Tom Cruise has built his career and a name for himself as an action hero who pulls off all his stunts himself. Now, Tom is expected to drop from above during the ongoing Paris Olympics on its closing day.

Expect something big as Paris hands over the baton to Los Angeles after this year's ceremony. The latter will play host next time in 2028. On August 11 when the 2024 Paris Olympics closes with a ceremony, Tom is expected to pull off a Mission Impossible-type stunt.

Tom Cruise to skydive into Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony?

Tom Cruise with his stunt will be responsible for passing the Olympic flag to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games. According to Deadline, the man who makes the impossible possible in fear-defying stunts will be “dropping in” when the Olympic flag is passed on to the 2028 host city for the Games. The Summer Olympics will be held from July 14 to 30, 2028.

While details of the stunt have been kept watertight, Deadline reported that a source told the outlet that we can “expect a major Hollywood production.”

Meanwhile, TMZ, claims in its report that the actor would get down from the top of Stade de France, landing on the stadium field with the official Olympic flag in his possession. Tom might use a stunt double to stick the landing on the field. There will also be a TV broadcast with a pre-recorded film which focuses on Tom Cruise’s film journey with the Olympic flag as he flies in an aeroplane from France to Los Angeles. Here, he is expected to skydive to the Hollywood sign.

Tom Cruise is being credited for the ideation of this stunt. He approached the International Olympic Committee and suggested a series of stunts to bridge the Paris and LA Games.
