Like every year, Golden Globes 2021 this year too was full of political statement, tearful moments and more. The ceremony was a virtual event which faced technical glitches too and led Daniel Kaluuya to gave his first acceptance speech that no one could hear.

Sacha Baron Cohen took a dig at HFPA, Donald Trump during his acceptance speech. After bagging two Golden Globes awards, actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen called out the "all-white" HFPA and Rudy Giuliani and said, "Who could get more laughs out of one unzipping? Just incredible. Our movie was just the beginning for him. Rudy went on to star in a string of comedy films, hits like 'Four Seasons Landscaping', 'Hair Dye Another Day' and the courtroom drama 'A Very Public Fart'."
The actor took a sly dig at Donald Trump during his acceptance speech. "Donald Trump is contesting the result," joked the actor.

Chadwick Boseman won his first Golden Globe Award for his incredible work in the film 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.' The late actor's wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, tearfully accepted the trophy on his behalf with a powerful speech that made everyone weep.
Tragically, the 43-year-old star of 'Black Panther' died in August 2020 from colon cancer.

Daniel Kaluuya won his first Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in 'Judas and the Black Messiah'. As the actor, who appeared from his home gave an acceptance speech, no one could really hear him due to a technical glitch. During his speech, Kaluuya's audio feed didn't connect, leaving viewers with only his muted video feed.
However, Laura Dern, who was presenting the award to Kaluuya, apologised for the "bad connection" on stage.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were back to their hosting duties at the 78th Golden Globes. The hosts started the night with a monologue, addressing 'the elephant in the room'. Talked about the diversity controversy on HFPA and lack of diversity on the award show. Tina called the award show 'flashy garbage'
''Look, a lot of flashy garbage got nominated but that happens, okay? That's like their thing," she continued. "But a number of Black actors and Black-led projects were overlooked."

Nicole Kidman was nominated in the Best Actress In A Mini-series or Motion Picture for TV for her role in HBO's The Undoing'. On the night, Kidman appeared with her family during Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's opening monologue. The 53-year-old star was seen sitting alongside husband Keith Urban and their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 12, and Faith Margaret, 10.

Catherine O'Hara won her first Golden Globe and accepted the prestigious award at home on the sofa with her husband by her side. However, shortly after she started her acceptance speech, a noise started to come out from her husband Bo Welch's phone leaving everyone quite confused.

Tracy Morgan had a bit of trouble pronouncing the name 'Soul'. Morgan was on the Globe stage as he mispronounced Disney-Pixar's animated film 'Soul' as 'Sal'. The actor and comedian, 52, presented the best original score honour and he left everyone puzzled when he announced the winner, it sounded like he said 'Sal' instead of the actual title. Tracy apologized later.

Ben Stiller revealed what he was busy doing during the quarantine. The 55-year-old headed to the stage to present the golden trophy and before it he revealed that he learned how to make banana bread, and next moment he showed off bread in the form of a Golden Globe trophy, “a delicious banana bread in the perfect form of a Golden Globe. ! Yum!' he said.
