Ganesh Chaturthi: Devotees gather in large numbers for morning 'aarti' across India

On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, people celebrated and offered prayers all across India with enthusiasm and devotion. The festival which lasts for 10 days, will conclude on September 17. During this period, people honour Ganesha idols in their homes to seek his blessings. The festival ends with a ritual in which the idols are submerged in a river or sea.

Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple, Pune

The Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple in Pune was packed with devotees. Over 42,000 women participated in aarti on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Celebrations for Ganesh Chaturthi took place at the Maha Sangadahara Chathurthi Vinayagar Temple in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu with a huge statue of Ganesha along with 108 other idols of Ganesha.
