On Thursday (June 2), a radiant Queen Elizabeth waved to applauding crowds gathered outside the Buckingham Palace as Britain began four days of pomp celebration to commemorate her record-breaking 70 years on throne. 

Tens of thousands of royal fans lined the streets of London for a military parade and to honour the 96-year-old monarch.

Only eight royal members?

Queen Elizabeth walked on the balcony of Buckingham Palace clutching a walking stick and wearing a dusky dove blue dress, she wore for her official jubilee image, was accompanied by her son and hier Prince Charles, his eldest son William and wife Kate and other officials.

Prince Louis making faces

Prince Louis, Prince William’s 4-year-old-son shielded his years and howled as the planes overhead while on the other hand the royal family waved to the people and watched a Royal Air Force fly-past.

Prince Andrew absent!

Prince Andrew will not attend the Platinum Jubilee celebrations as he recently tested positive for covid. 

The prince was divested by the queen after his image was ruined after settling a US lawsuit in February in which he was accused of sexually abusing a minor.

Prince Harry and Meghan to attend the celebrations

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are likely to visit the United Kingdom with their children for the celebration and make a public appearance after stepping down from the royal duties. 

However, they aren’t invited to join the monarch on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Queen as the head of the state

Boris Johnson claims that people across the commonwealth will be celebrating the Queen’s 70 years on throne “unabashed.” Reported by the Guardian.

However, the jubilee is expected to be largely disregarded in the Caribbean where an ill-advised trip of Belize, Jamaica, Duchess of Cambridge received with several demonstrations, calls for slavery reparations and calls for the removal of Queen as the head of state.

Royal fans disappointed as Queen doesn’t attend the thanksgiving service

The Queen, who has had to postpone a number of engagements recently due to “episodic mobility issues” will be absent, unwillingly and dampening the day’s celebration spirit.
