Other topics that gained audience attention were - Will Smith's shocking slap to comedian Chris Rock at the Oscar stage, to BTS' military service, Ranveer Singh baring it all and of course, Aamir Khan's most-awaited movie 'Laal Singh Chaddha' getting tanked.

As this year is coming to end, here take a look at all the news that rocked the showbiz world.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's defamation trial is one such dramatic and dirty case that will be remembered for years. After losing the UK case, Johnny Depp filed a $50 million defamation case against his ex-wife Amber in Fairfax, Virginia.

During the trial of the case, which ran for six weeks, the former couple revealed some of the most bizarre and shocking things that happened between them behind closed doors.

After a two-month-long trial, the seven jurors sided with Depp, agreeing that Amber had defamed the actor with her 2018 Washington Post op-ed.

After siding with Depp, the court ordered the actress to pay $ 10 million as compensatory damages and $ 5 million, which was reduced to $365,000 in punitive damages. On the other hand, court Heard was awarded $ 2 million as compensatory damages.

After the months-long case, Heard recently agreed to pay $1 million to Depp.

BTS forever!

A lot has happened in BTS's life this year. In a shocking move, the seven boys' band announced that they are going on a hiatus to focus on their solo careers and will come back together as a boy band by 2025.

Their strange move was announced when the boys' military service was the most debatable topic.

In October, the k-pop boy band's management company confirmed that they will perform military service for their nation.

"BIGHIT MUSIC is proud to announce today that the members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfil their military service." "After the phenomenal concert to support Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030, and as each individual embarks on solo endeavours, it’s the perfect time, and the members of BTS are honoured to serve," the music company shared in the statement.

In December, the oldest member of the boy band Jin finally got enlisted in the military in South Korea.

Kanye and his remarks...

Over the years, Kanye West always manages to be in news for the wrong reasons. But this year, he crossed all the limits.

Kanye managed to gain headlines first in Paris Fashion week for wearing a White Live Matter t-shirt. He faced a huge backlash from several celebrities over his sartorial choice.

However, months later from nowhere he made highly objectionable comments against Jews community. However everything went out hands, when he continuously defended his anti-Semitic comments as he confessed his love for Adolf Hitler.

Due to his comments, Kanye lost his billionaire tag after Adidas cut all its ties with the rapper. Not only this, he has also lost his lucrative deals with Balenciaga, GAP.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have always managed to stay in the headlines for some other reason. But the couple recently became the top trend in the last month of this year for their Netflix docuseries 'Harry and Meghan'.

The six-episode series gained a lot of reactions worldwide; some called out the couple for making the wrong allegations against the tabloids and the British royal couple. Others hailed the couple for bravely coming out and sharing their side of the story.

#Boycott

Aamir Khan made a comeback to the big screen with his most-awaited movie, 'Laal Singh Chaddha,' which has become the most debatable topic in the country. The movie has tanked at the box office, and the one major reason behind the film's low BO numbers is the boycott the movie faced online.

The Twitter that Khan faced was not for the film but for the actor's years-old remark on intolerance and also for his movie 'PK'.
