The pandemic year 2020 is coming to end, touted to be one of the terrible years, we also witnessed some movies that didn't make the year any less tolerable.

Starting from, Imtiaz Ali's remake of his own hit film 'Love Aaj Kal' to Varun Dhawan's 'Coolie No. 1', a recreation of and by his father David Dhawan, take a look at the worst Hindi movies of the year.

Love Aaj Kal

This year, Imtiaz Ali broke many hearts with a remake of 'Love Aaj Kal'. Featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, Imtiaz delivers his 2020 version of the millennial love story. Though the story once again takes you to the world of imperfect people and their complex situations, with a confusing narrative and choppy editing, the film itself turned out to be flawed beyond repairs.
The lacking acting skills of the two protagonists didn't help the case either. Shunned by viewers and critics alike, 'Love Aaj Kal' was one of the worst watches of the year.

Baaghi 3

Tiger Shroff's broad and heavy shoulders and his martial arts are always aren't enough to save the weight of the movie. Ahmed Khan's third movie of the action franchise, 'Baaghi' was something even 'masala' movie-watchers could digest. This time, Tiger was up against a nation to save his brother played Riteish Deshmukh. From poor acting, screenplay to cringe-worthy dialogues, and Shraddha Kapoor's foul-mouthed lines, the movie is something that makes an action thriller, that no one will ever watch.

Mrs. Serial Killer

In the mid of the pandemic year, we got to see Jacqueline Fernandez and Manoj Bajpai starrer 'Mrs. Serial Killer'. The movie which was touted to be a crime thriller turned out to be a terrible drama film instead.
The movie barely had any plot, and pathetic acting by each and every actor in the film was the sour cherry on the already stale cake. The only good thing about the film was the material it provided the internet memes, humoring the internet-verse during the peak lockdown season.

Sadak 2

The Mahesh Bhatt directorial venture, 'Sadak 2' needs only a single word to explain it, i.e, 'abhorrent'. The movie received a lot of flak since day one and was not able to save its grace after it was released. The movie revolves around the life of Aarya played by Alia Bhatt, who goes on a mission to seek revenge from Gyan Prakash, a spiritual guru. Bhatt tried to create the magic of the 90's superhit film but the dialogues and treatment of the film felt jaded, dated and bizarre.

Laxmii

After tricking the whole world for almost a year, Akshay Kumar gave us, 'Laxmmi'. The movie which garnered so much buzz with its every single poster proved to be a major disappointment.

Kumar intended to give us the movie with another big social taboo, i.e acceptance and love for transgenders, however, the remake of a hit south Indian film faltered at every step. Rather than including so many social issues at a time, makers should've stuck to the one. The film was called out for misrepresenting and stereotyping the trans community, while the jokes couldn't even evoke a chuckle, forget laughs.

Sharad Kelkar's acting was commendable, although his performance wasn’t enough to salvage the film and thus the movie enters the list of not-so-good films of 2020.

Durgamati: The Myth

Why Akshay Why! Kumar's other worst treat to us but this time from the back of the camera. Bhumi Pednekar starrer 'Durgamati' was one of the unintentionally hilarious movies of the past and for the future, and after watching we can't understand why Bollywood is still sticking to these 'haunted haveli' till now. This socially inclined horror-thriller with such a convoluted plot and loud acting was an epic misfire.

Coolie No. 1

The pandemic year is ending and at last, we get an unnecessary treat from Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer, 'Coolie No. 1'. David Dhawan tried to create the Govinda's 90's magic again with his son Varun but failed totally.

The movie was full of regressive dialogue and jokes from the 90s that didn't age well. Despite having a good supporting cast, Paresh Rawal, Jawed Jeffery,  Shikha Talsania, Johnny Lever, and Rajpal Yadav, the movie seemed to be an outdated version and totally irrelevant.
