Upon the announcement of Team India’s arrival date and time, the excitement among the fans was over the top.
India Captain Rohit Sharma shared a beautiful moment with his mother when she kissed and hugged him upon his arrival in Mumbai on Thursday (July 4). Rohit-led Indian Team landed in Mumbai for the open-bus victory parade and the felicitation at the Wankhede Stadium. The India captain, who didn’t show much emotion until India won the T20 World Cup Final, blushed when his mother greeted him.
In a beautiful moment caught on camera, Rohit’s mother kissed and hugged him, with his cheeks going red.

Meanwhile, Team India’s entourage was stranded in Barbados for three days after the final due to a hurricane warning on the island. BCCI secretary Jay Shah (also struck in the team hotel) arranged a special flight for all concerned.

Upon the announcement of Team India’s arrival date and time, the excitement among the fans was over the top.
The Men in Blue landed in New Delhi in the wee hours on Thursday, with fans gathered at the airport to welcome them. The Indian Team first reached the ITC Maurya Hotel for relaxation before visiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence at around 10 AM. PM Modi chatted and had breakfast with the T20 World Cup-winning team.
The Indian Team then left for Mumbai, where they landed in the evening to the most beautiful sight recorded on the Marine Drive in the longest time. With a sea of fans covering the route (from which they had to travel), the open-bus victory parade took place soon after.
Following an unbelievable passage of one hour until they reached the Wankhede Stadium, the BCCI felicitated the winning side.
The board even presented them with prize money of INR 125 crore. All the players danced to the DJ's music, a moment Indian fans will keep close to their hearts.
Meanwhile, India’s top-scorer in the tournament, Rohit Sharma, along with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, announced their T20I retirements after the seven-run win over South Africa in the T20 World Cup final at Barbados.
