In a potential security concern hours before the Paris Olympics 2024 closing ceremony on Sunday, (Aug 11), the police evacuated the area around the iconic Eiffel tower. The steps were taken after a shirtless man was seen climbing on the tower.
According to news agency PTI, the man was seen scaling the 330-metre (1,083-foot) tall tower in the afternoon before the police took action. He was near the iconic Olympic rings adorning the tower on the second section above the first-level viewing deck. Watch the incident below:

Tourists are being evacuated for safety. Entry beneath the tower is closed.

The police escorted the people away at around 3 pm local time, while some visitors remained on the second floor before being allowed to go 30 minutes later.
