Russia, Syria Bomb Rebels After Surprise Incursion in Aleppo

A radical Islamist group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, launched its largest military incursion against Syrian regime forces in northwest Syria since 2020, attacking multiple towns in Aleppo province. In response, Russian and Syrian warplanes conducted bombing raids. This offensive coincided with a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel.
