A beauty influencer tragically lost her life after being swept away by a flash flood. The gut-wrenching incident captured on camera showed Jeniffer Soares Martins and her husband clinging to their car amid the fast-flowing floodwater during the early hours of Sunday, November 24.

In the clip, Jeniffer, also known as Jhei Soares, and her husband were seen stuck amid the flood water as the onlookers tried to help them. The incident took place in Uberlândia in Brazil when the heavy rainfall flooded the city. 

The footage shared on social media captures the moments before the couple gets swept away in the water despite people trying to rescue them using a ladder. The waist-depth water dragged their car along with its strong flow, taking them with it.

According to the New York Post, the local authorities said that while Jeniffer’s husband, Wallison Lima, survived the flood, she was found dead.

Hours after the incident occurred, Lima wrote on social media, “I just wanted her back.”

Last social media post

According to reports, moments before the incident, the 28-year-old influencer shared a video of herself with the caption, “I'm going to be young again.”

The unexpected news of her demise shocked her fans and followers, who expressed their grief in the comments of the post shared by her on her Instagram handle.

The couple had been together for 14 years and married for over eight years. They frequently shared their life on social media.

Flash flood in Uberlândia

According to reports, the city was severely flooded after 2.2 inches of rain was recorded in just 30 minutes.

“We inform you that the situation in the city of Uberlândia is under control. Electricity, water supply, internet, and telephone services have not been affected. There are no isolated communities or blocked highways,” the government said in a statement.
