President-elect Donald Trump earlier announced the appointment of Musk and Ramaswamy to the department

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Indian-origin biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announced that they are hiring for their new United States Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk and Ramaswamy are seeking “high-IQ small-government revolutionaries” who are willing to work over 80 hours a week without pay.

In an X post, the department posted from its official handle, “We are very grateful to the thousands of Americans who have expressed interest in helping us at DOGE. We don’t need more part-time idea generators. We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting.”

“If that’s you, DM this account with your CV. Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants,” it added.

However, to send a message to a DOGE account to submit applications, users need an X subscription. To get a verified X account, users need to pay $84 a year for the premium membership.

“Indeed, this will be tedious work, make lots of enemies & compensation is zero,” Musk wrote in a separate X post about the job. “What a great deal!”
