SCO Summit concludes with adoption of Astana Declaration and 25 strategic documents

The 24th summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), held in Astana, Kazakhstan, concluded with the adoption of the Astana Declaration and the approval of 25 strategic documents.

The summit, titled "Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue – Striving Towards a Sustainable Peace and Prosperity," brought together leaders from SCO member states to discuss key issues and chart the organisation's future course.

The Astana Declaration underscored the SCO's role in bolstering global peace, security and stability. 

Here are the key decisions and agreements as the grouping adopts the Astana Declaration: 

- SCO initiative on world unity for just peace, harmony and development

- SCO Development Strategy until 2035

- Proposals to improve SCO activities

- Cooperation programs to combat terrorism, separatism, and extremism for 2025-2027

- SCO Anti-Drug Strategy for 2024-2029 and its Action Program

- Strategy for Energy Cooperation until 2030

- Action Plan for the SCO Economic Development Strategy until 2030

- Establishment of the Association of Investors of SCO Member States

- Program to develop cooperation in protected areas and eco-tourism
